Oh January, how much fun you have been. I had a fun kick start of 2012 on new years eve with a great party, went to Amsterdam multiple times, saw James Vincent Mcmorrow live at Paradiso amd had lots of laughs downtown afterwards. Went shopping more than usual, finally got my hands on a jacket that I wanted, and also was lucky enough to get some gold framed polaroids at Bendorff in Amsterdam. Got a haircut, had some lovely walks in the snow and enjoyed the winter sun.

Recently I started shooting with Impossible's PX 680, and man, I have fallen in love with it.
It's exactly what I want in a Polaroid, it has the vintage glow that we love so much, and it's really not hard to shoot.

I found the PX 70 Push somewhat challenging, but the PX 680 is so much easier. I didn't even need to shield them from light. I've read that outdoors its recommended to shield it from sunlight, but to be honest I kind of like the orange light leak-ish result.

I got back from London a couple of days ago, and I had an amazing time. I enjoyed every minute I was there, and to be honest I really didn't want to go home.
It's as if I belong there, I feel intensely happy when I'm there. If I could I would just grab my bags and go.

I really enjoy seeing improvement in my Polaroids, it's so much fun really having to use your hands to get the picture better, instead of just clicking a button and that's that.

Remember my first polaroid? It was awful.

Went shopping in The Hague today.

I just had to get another Cold Method shirt, not just because they are high quality shirts, but mainly because they are so comfortable. Believe it or not, but I didn't even own a 'plain white t' before this one.

And then there it was, the perfect leather jacket.

It had my name all over it, and was begging me to try it on.

Once I tried it on there was no way I could leave the store without it, perfect fit!

It's from a dutch leather specialized brand called Goosecraft, and is being sold in UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Japan.

Today felt like a good day to take polaroids, the sun was out and my mood was good.

I still find it hard to get good pictures out of the PX 70 Color Shade Push film, but I am slowly getting better at it.

I am very excited to try out the PX 680 film, it looks very promising.

Yesterday I had a lovely day with my best friend, we went to Antwerp for some retail therapy.

Antwerp is one of my favorite city's, it's as if I'm coming home, everything is just so lovely, people are very nice and the architecture is beautiful.

First thing I bought were two pairs of Tommy Hilfiger socks, don't laugh, but I have a thing for bright colored socks, so yeah, red it is!

Then we went to Urban Outfitters, totally love it there! Bought an entire outfit:

project 365

It's always something that I wanted to do, but never felt a hundred percent devoted to actually do it, but 18 days ago I decided that it was time, time to start the project 365.
I try to do mostly self portraits, because that's what I enjoy shooting most, and this way I can learn a lot.
Here is a set of all the pictures.

Below are my personal favorites of the pictures I've shot so far.

*edit: I quit the project 365 after realizing that it took the passion away, it was just something I had to do, I wasn't enjoying it as much anymore. To quit seemed the most logical thing to do.

Earlier today I was walking my dog, and I noticed this lovely tree, I instantly wanted to take a polaroid of it.

On the first polaroid, I forgot to shield it from light, but actually like the result, the orange looks like a lens flare, and the bottom makes it look like a little painting.

This afternoon I had a lovely bike ride with my Nikon and Diana Mini, the weather was pleasant, the birds were tweeting and the lake was clear. Oh spring, how I've missed you.

There was this little foal near my house, and the joyful little horse just really seemed to enjoy his first spring.

Polaroid: my first pictures

You may or may not know that I recently bought a Polaroid SX-70 camera, at The Impossible Project.
I've been looking for this camera for a long long time, and there it was, all shiny as if it was brand new.
Knowing it is at least 40 years old, makes it so much more special.

To be honest I expected it would be easy to shoot polaroids, but as a matter of fact, it really needs some practice. The camera isn't that hard, it's the film that needs a little getting used to. Shielding it from light, heating it up, etc.
Experimenting with the PX 70 Color Shade Push film is a lot of fun though.

Hermès Hapi 3MM bracelet

I've been absolutely obsessed with Hermès products for a couple of years now, for me, Hermès beats every other fashion brand.

And today I stumbled upon this lovely unisex bracelet, and love that it goes around you're wrist like four times, making it look a bit more casual.

This bracelet is one of the most affordable pieces out of the Hermès collection, retailing for €226 [SGD $420].

I'll surely be getting this bracelet in the near future.

Just recently I brought film from my diptych camera [olympus pen ee-2] to the lab, not expecting much from this old, found at an antique market, little camera.

Pictures aren't photoshopped whatsoever, it's all genuine.

I have been looking for a functional, but especially stylish bag. It's not that I haven't seen nice bags, but none of them are good enough. I want to shiver when I see it, that's how I'll know it's my it-bag.

The price range I'm looking in is somewhere starting at €300 with a maximum of €1500.

I'm not gonna waste my time on explaining why I would spend so much money on 'just' a bag. If you really think it's 'just a bag', then this post is not for you.

Fujifilm Instax Double Exposure

You probably know that there are ways to double expose on the original Polaroid camera's, but did you know it's possible on the Fujifilm Instax camera's?

There are two ways to double expose an instax film;

Technique 1:

1. Take out your film cartridge IN COMPLETE DARKNESS. This can be in a dark room, at night, changing bag, whatever.

2. Make sure there is film in it (at least one frame).

3. TAPE OVER the end where the film comes out.

4. Put the film pack back into the camera. You may now turn the lights on.

5. Now you need to go out and take two exposures. The first press of the shutter (at least on my 210) will NOT expose the film. This is because this is meant to eject the black piece of plastic.

6. Take your two shots (set exposure to darken is recommended).

7. Take out the cartridge once more in COMPLETELY DARKNESS, remove the tape, and put back in.

8. Fire the shutter once more. This will eject the film and spread the chemicals (developing the film). It SHOULDNT expose the film again, but just to be sure; cover the lense with your hand/something opaque to block the light.

Technique 2:

1. Once the camera is turned on, open the film chamber/back so the film pack can be tipped out.

2. Take a picture, but before the camera has a chance to push the shot out and through the rollers, developing the film, simply tip the bottom part of the film pack slightly out of the camera body.

This way, the little electronic hook that pushes the film out of the camera can't latch on and the picture will still remain in the pack.

3. You can then take another exposure and allow it to be pushed through or simply repeat this process until you get as many exposures as you want!

Fujifilm Instax Wide [instant film]

Years ago I was given a fujifilm Instax 200 for my birthday, and totally fell in love with instant photography.

I stumbled upon Jim's flickr, and felt inspired to start using it again.

So today I picked up a double pack of Fujifilm Instax Wide, at a local store, [€25 for 20 prints] and felt like I needed some more inspiration.
